About me...

I'm the president and editor-in-chief of Time Out Chicago, where I work with a wonderful group of people. If you live in Chicago or just like fun magazine writing, you should check out the pub.

Before starting my Time Out adventure in January 2008, I wrote columns on politics and blogging for the Spokesman-Review in Spokane, Washington (where I also pitched in as an editorial consultant), hosted a public radio show on the alternative press and reviewed fiction for Booklist. I've had seven books published since 2002, including this one on school fundraising and two novels about a crime-solving Chicago journalist: Nash, Metropolitan; and Nash, Rambler. Other career highlights have included teaching creative writing for the UCLA Extension Writers' Program, serving as features editor at sonicnet/mtv.com and editing a Chicago alt.weekly back in the '90s. You can read more about my books here, and follow me on Twitter here.
